This file includes the Adobe Acrobat PDF file named Grammar Slammer Sample.PDF. If your operating system does not support long file names, you may rename the file. Keep in mind that this is a sample and contains less than one third of the complete Grammar Slammer file and less than one eighth of the Grammar Slammer Deluxe file.
Simply extract the file and place it in the directory or folder that you wish. We recommend placing it in the location where you place other Adobe PDF files.
You need Adobe Acrobat Reader to read this file. It has all the features that Adobe Reader files have including links to other pages and a detailed Bookmarks or Table of Contents section. To use your Adobe Reader, please refer to the manual that came with the Reader. This is sometimes called the Quick Tour, Quick Reference Guide, or Help Manual, depending on the version of Acrobat Reader you are using.
Grammar Slammer should be compatible with any version of Acrobat Reader 3.0 or higher. The current version (as of February 2004) is Version 6.0.
If you have purchased commercial software for your computer, there is a good possibility that you already have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your system. Many products use it for reference and help manuals. If you do not currently have Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer system, you may download it at no cost from the Adobe web site. Go to http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep.html to download Adobe Acrobat Reader for your operating system.
Not all features of the Grammar Slammer reference may be available in all operating systems, but most systems will use most of the features. For Mac users and others with Graphical User Interfaces, you may add Grammar Slammer to you program listing using the procedures of your operating system. Those with text-entry operating systems, in most cases you may enter the command for Acrobat Reader followed by the Grammar Slammer file name.
Note to Palm PC users: Users of Palm OS should ask for the specially edited version of Grammar Slammer for Palm OS users. If Adobe Acrobat Reader is not available for your version of Windows CE, you may purchase a program which reads Adobe PDF files in Windows CE from Ansyr Technologies at www.ansyr.com.
Because this is written for a variety of systems, it does not have the toolbar that the Windows version has. You may be able to use it in a similar way, though, if your operating system has a "Run When System Starts" feature.
